Guiding Teacher Gaelyn Godwin and Senior Zen practitioner Glen Duval will lead a half-day of sitting and walking meditation on Sunday, June 28, 2009.
Extending our regular meditation is an opportunity to deepen practice and refresh our intention.
The day begins with meditation at 5:30 am, and continues with sitting and walking meditation, a dharma talk, and opportunities to meet with the leaders for individual practice discussion. Breakfast and lunch will be a silent formal meal using oryoki bowls. Please bring your bowls, or, if you would like to rent bowls ($6) or purchase a set ($40), or if you need a refresher course in the practice, please send a request to the Ino, info@houstonzen.org. There will be a class during June led by Glen Snyder.
$60, includes oryoki breakfast and lunch; $25 for members of HZC.
Flint Sparks and Senior Zen practitioner Louise Dreyfus will lead a morning of sitting and walking meditation integrated with the regular Saturday program, on August 8, 2009.
Flint and Louise bring many years of meditation experience to their psychotherapy practices and have explored the many interconnections between the two streams. Join Flint and Louise in this exploration.
